Hi everyone. Sarah here - I'm working with an all girls group at Gosforth Junior High and told them I'd upload their first blog entry as we ran out of time to do it in our first session. We had some great ideas to kick things off for our campaign, which will focus on quite a few things...

We'd like to run some assemblies to encourage those lazybones who get lifts in to try and walk at least some of the time - to tell them what the benefits are to them and the environment.We'd also like to set up an event where everyone who can walk does walk throughout the space of a week - we will be asking parents to sign everyone's diaries as proof - and the class who does the best will get a reward of some sort.We would also like to speak with some of our local decision makers about how we can make the streets safer for students who want to walk to school. There are a couple of issues we'd like to tackle - the bins that people leave out so you have to walk on the road to get past and people who park their cars on the path instead of on their driveway.

We might make some changes to this (and Sarah might have missed some things off) but this is it in a nutshell so far!
