Campaign-in-a-Box is our citizenship challenge - the kit contains everything an adult mentor will need to facilitate a series of workshops looking at the barriers to walking, developing solutions and sharing these with local decision-makers.
Participants will gain expertise in:
In addition, each school produces a 'blog' of what they've achieved - be inspired by our blogs so far!
Campaign-in-a-Box is suitable for classroom work, off-curriculum days, out-of school clubs and youthwork settings. Each box contains a guidebook for adult mentors and a workbook for students. It also contains resources which enable young people to run their own ‘street treasure hunt’ to identify the barriers to walking on their streets, to create films or posters and leaflets, to run a ‘walking buddy’ scheme for new starters, and to deliver a presentation to local decision-makers.
Secondary school students in England with a budget of at least £50 to spend on their campaign are eligible for a free Campaign-in-a-Box toolkit. Local authorities in England willing to offer a budget to school groups can also get free toolkits, while stocks last. Schools, local authorities and other organisations outside England can order the boxes at competitive rates.
