Previous Events and Themes

Over the years, we have held a range of exciting events on different themes, all aimed at encouraging more children and families to walk to school. Each year, we hold high profile events and campaigns as part of Walk to School Week and International Walk to School Month. Past themes have linked to health improvement, helping the environment and encouraging socialising and road safety on the walk to school. Studies have shown the more traffic there is on the road, the less people know their neighbours so this theme was all about more people walking, talking to local shopkeepers and learning about their local area.

Walk to School Week, May
