Things you can do in under 5 minutes
- Sign up for our monthly enews (sign up now on the left hand side of this page) to stay up to date on the world of walking to school, competitions and dates for diaries
- Get informed by visiting the website and spread the word with colleagues and friends
- Let us know what you’re up to whether you’re running an event, or have had a recent campaigning success- email walktoschool@livingstreets.org.uk
- Play our short film about walking to school to get children geared up and excited about walking in – there’s nothing quite like pester power!
- Check out the benefits of running our WoW scheme
- Create a direct debit for as little as £3 a month to support our local campaigning work
- Start a new topic of debate on our forum.
Things you can do in 20 minutes
- Run an assembly on Walk to School (we’ve already done one for you!)
- Use our letter templates to tell parents how you’re getting involved
- Run a lesson about walking to school. Our lesson plans designed for KS1 and KS2, covering a range of subjects including numeracy, geography, art and design, literacy and more!
- Hold a discussion about walking and how to overcome barriers at your next PTA meeting to encourage more parents to give it a go. We’ve got some presentations for you here
- Set up a Walk to School board in your school reception showing what you’ve been doing

- Run WoW - speak to your local council to see if they have any resources or funding available
- Hold a big WoW or Walk to School launch event and invite parents and local media
- Create a car free zone around your school
