Get involved

There are lots of ways you can get involved in the campaign:

Things you can do now

  • If you don’t already, the best thing you can do is try out walking to school with your children. Pick one day a week and see if it’s any quicker, cheaper or just more fun!
  • Get informed by visiting the website and spread the word with colleagues, friends and family

Things you can do in under 5 minutes

  • Sign up for our monthly enews (a sign up form can be found on the left hand side of this page) for regular updates and ideas.
  • Create a direct debit for as little as £3 a month to support our local campaigning work
  • Let us know what you’re up to whether you’re running an event, or have had a recent campaigning success- email walktoschool@livingstreets.org.uk.
  • Start a new debate on our forum.

Things you can do in 20 minutes

  • Find out what your school does to promote sustainable travel. Do they take part in Walk to School Week, Month or WoW? If not, tell them by using our free resources
  • Get other parents on board by raising walking to school at the next PTA meeting- we’ve put together a presentation for you to use
  • Ask if your local authority will provide your school with any free resources (or get them to get in touch with us for more information)

Things you can do with more time

  • Join forces with other parents in your local area to campaign on issues you’re passionate about to make your neighbourhood a better place to be
  • Create a car free zone around your school
  • Campaign for 20mph limits around your school, learn more about this and download your free campaign pack here
  • Have you got a problem with pavement parking around your child’s school or home? Download our free pavement parking pack and start your own campaign
